About
Me...
I
focus on Colon Hydrotherapy, Certified GAPS™ Nutritional Counseling,
a Workshop on Stepping Stones to Health: Overcoming Metabolic Syndrome,
Emotional Eating and Stress, the 8-Hour IACT Certification Course and
the 100-Hour IACT Professional Training.
I have 37 years experience as a certified Colon Hydrotherapist
in Miami, Florida and Tucson, Arizona. I am certified in Massage Therapy
and Colon Hydrotherapy from the Florida School of Massage Therapy in
Gainesville, FL (1978) with additional studies in Colon Hydrotherapy
at Lindsey Hopkins School of Massage in Miami FL. I am a member of and
an instructor for the International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy
(I-ACT) and Nationally Board Certified in Colon Hydrotherapy. Additional
training includes Chi Nei Tsang, Mayr Technique, Abdominal Visceral
Manipulation and Foot Reflexology all of which support abdominal massage
of the abdomen.
In November of 2012, I studied with Natasha Campbell-McBride
MD, neurologist and nutritionist from Cambridge UK and received her
Gut and Psychology Certification. Her Program is specific for neurological
disorders such as the Autism-Aspergers spectrum, mental illness, asthma,
allergies and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. The purpose of the diet and
lifestyle program is to seal and seed the intestines. In other words,
heal the gut wall and reseed the good bacteria and yeast. See gaps.me
for more info. I provide consultations at the office and via skype and
phone.
In 2014, I took Module 1 & 2 from Thomas Rau MD of
the Paracelsus Clinic in Switzerland. The course held in Tempe AZ focused
on Biological Medicine and his healing protocols from Paracelsus Clinic.
Biolological Medicine is based on Detoxification, Healing the Intestines
and Rebuilding the Body Cell by Cell Naturally.
Since 2011, I have developed a very important workshop
with Ann Baldwin PhD that focuses on healing the sugar addiction and
emotional eating. These behaviors are very intertwined with what is
called Metabolic Syndrome, the gateway syndrome to the big 4: cardiovascular
events including stroke, cancer, diabetes and obesity. We now call the
workshop, Stayin' Alive!
I am a 'subject matter' expert on Sugar and Constipation
and have e-books coming out soon on the subject.
I offer a free newsletter for those who wish to know the
latest specials and intestinal health info. I also provide public talks
to community groups on Detoxification, Working with the Sugar Addiction
and How to Overcome Eating Disorders. Be in touch!
My education includes a BA in Political Science and History
from Trinity Washington University in Washington DC and an MA in Education
from Stanford University. After graduate school, I taught at the International
School in Santiago, Chile and developed a now rusty fluency in Spanish.
I have completed Post Graduate Studies at the University of Innsbruck
in Austria and Florida State University in Tallahassee FL. I have also
completed Financial and Management Training at Citigroup in New York
City NY in 1972 and worked in their Agribusiness department as an account
officer until 1976.
Receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University
of Arizona in 1994 was a turning point in my life. It revealed the abdomen
as the core of movement. It brought more confirmation of the central
role of the intestines in all levels of health as well as artistic statement.
It reinforced a "body knowledge" that transcends the purely mental.
It opened the path for a pure integration of body, mind and soul. It
supported me to express myself fully and with feeling.
In service of my Tucson community, I served 4 years on
the board of Southern Arizona Hiking Club and 2 years on the Dance Advisory
Board at the University of Arizona. I have memberships in various clubs
such as Arizona Native Plant Society, Tucson Mac Users Group (TMUG)
and Southern Arizona Hiking Club.
